Appeal after woman in her 80s burgled in her home

Detectives in Sheffield are appealing for witnesses following a burglary of an elderly woman’s home in Ranmoor.
Between midnight and 1am on Saturday 12 November, it is reported that two masked men forced entry to a property on Stumperlowe Hall Road.
The occupant, a woman in her 80s, was confronted by the suspects. She did not suffer any injuries during the incident.
The men took a small safe, containing a small amount of cash.
Gareth Thomas, Sheffield Central Neighbourhoods Inspector, said: “This was a nasty incident which has left the elderly resident extremely shaken.
“I know incidents like this are a cause of concern for local people. There will be an increased police presence in the area today as we carry out our enquiries.
“My team will also be increasing patrols in the area in the coming days. If you have any concerns or information, please speak to them.”
Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have any information which could help with their enquiries. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area around the time of the incident.
